3rd Century on the coast of Italy lived a humble priest who later became St. Elmo. His parish consisted of many fishermen & their families. His main duty was to bless the fleet & the men who went to sea. During a violet storm he stood on the dock and prayed. After the storm was over the ships appeared safe and he had a blue mist where he stood "St. Elmo's Fire". Many believe he still protects men who go to sea. Medal is solid antiqued brass, St Elmo on one side a sailing ship on the other. See small & large images.
